i spend my time on you did what no other would do you bend towards the sun not sure what i’ve become i’m tired of being brave i wanna misbehave i’m hiding from my age afraid that i will stay
2.
you throw me underneath the safety i try to keep to follow what’s behind is the worst habit of mine you & your devil make a team that’s out to get at me but i cannot deceive what’s crawling in the sheets so don’t watch me as i’m leaving we’ll be dead by the evening i am soft but i am seething you’ll be gone by the morning so take me to the altar and drown me in god’s water you want to see me suffer i’m your drive-thru never-after now i know that blood means less it’s the bone that’s used to stretch the fine fabric of reality there’s two hundred faces staring back at me so don’t watch me as i’m leaving we’ll be dead by the evening i am soft but i am seething you’ll be gone by the morning
3.
sacrum 06:28
control myself i have been known to haunt i am young and i am insecure wear your coat there out in the cold i’ll be safe when we close the door and i’ve known you from somewhere before from an old land, whatever it shows where did you come from where do you go i trace shadows down to far below you can wear my blood if you like i will wear yours in clear sight and a sacrum knows not to fight as a secret seeks for the light lanterns could here glow mountains, a see-saw you know what i do not we throw doubt into fire
4.
X, in blood 05:32
i saw you there from across the room you had trouble in your hair they wouldn’t look at you a smoke in your mouth your son at the door i couldn’t work it out i guess with these things you just can’t be sure lock your doors an X, in blood & where did you go love that night that you walked out your lungs dry out in their own hell so throw it at the wall i’ll clean up if you ever fall asleep i know, i’ll ask them to give you a shot & eat that white rose & call it a day if you ever wake up i’ll tell you i should have loved you anyway lock your doors an X, in blood & where did you go love that night that you walked out your lungs dry out in their own hell
5.
your man 04:28
hold yourself together drown yourself again lord it’s been ages since you’ve seen your man he went that night without you as you cradled my head and lord we don’t deserve you won’t you choose a bed and come back again without your man so pull yourself together fear what you love, what you know to be true to the end lord i’m in trouble i might lose my head til i come back again you know your man and while you wait i will separate you from your man again while you tell all your friends
6.
suicides 04:21
for you i won’t i’m hanging off the ceiling for you i don’t i wake up every day and haunt for you i’m here the car’s on and i’m sleeping for you i’m queer don’t fuck me if you’re leaving and i’ve, lost, my, home tired, drunk, undone, lord hold my hand we’ll jump off where we’re feeling we’ll hit the sand under waves that rip reeling and i’ve, lost, my, home tired, drunk, undone, lord
7.
hawkeye 03:56
take the kid take your wife inside i want it all but i can’t decide just how to fall i must be living twice i want it all but i can’t decide ooh is it, on me, the hawk eye, creeping i heard they had it coming i heard them scream for silence ooh you were a child bathed in white your mother’s hair, your father’s eyes you said be gone to the hawk eye they took it all left nothing behind ooh
8.
outro 01:17
“history is a set of numbers – the sky speaks to the people, it warms them, reassures them with sun and sunset, convinces them with rain, imprisons them with gravity, fills lungs and sails, lifts the wings of their wild fowl, settles around their buildings like a mother, like affectionate cement.” - from michael dransfield’s 'geography'

about

made over two years, this record delves into lust, loss and illness and is a searing and inquisitive effort to better understand the act of affecting and being affected. spanning from a love song to murder ballad to admissions of grief, i wanted to explore the very intricate mechanisms that underlie intimacy and connection in both the romantic and the platonic.
